Open Guided Tours in October

The Bergen Assembly 2013 art mediation program is based on the notion of assembly that has informed the founding of the new international triennial in Bergen. The program offers a chance for visitors to raise questions and bring their own perspectives to our Assembly and to gather in critical discussion with an art mediator, while gaining deeper insights into the art projects that are presented.

Artist talk: Mariusz Tarkawian

In his ongoing project The Artworks of the Future (2013), Mariusz Tarkawian draws what contemporary artists will be making in ten, twenty, or a hundred years. Some of these artists are well-known, others do not yet exist, and others—as Tarkawian says—are misappropriated from their actual callings (such as his own brother, who is a mechanic). For the Bergen Assembly exhibition, Tarkawian creates a “pictorial digest” of the Institute of the Disappearing Future, which will literally disappear three weeks before the rest of the exhibition closes.

Mariusz Tarkawian (f. 1983) lives and works in Warszawa. His project for Bergen Assembly is realized with the generous support of Hordaland Kunstsenter.
