Lars Cuzner is an artist who produces research, time-based, and performance work. Fadlabi is an artist who works with painting, texts, and performance, emphasizing cross-disciplinary approaches to art making.
Cuzner has been collaborating with Fadlabi on European Attraction Limited (2010–2014), a contemporary rendition of the Congo Village that was part of the 1914 World Fair in Oslo. As part of the project, they staged a two-day conference at the Oslo Military Society in 2013. Cuzner is also currently working on a long-term performance series From What You Can ́t Protect Yourself, which is dedicated to converting artists to Christianity, though the artist does not subscribe to religious beliefs himself. Recent exhibitions and performances include: Muscle Temple Residency, 0047, Oslo, 2013; Blind Carbon Copy, kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga, 2012; based in Berlin, Berlin, 2012; Brucennial, New York, 2012; and Recurring Individual Conversations, UKS, Oslo, 2010. Cuzner lives and works in Oslo.
Fadlabi's work maintains its roots in his native Sudanese and African culture, tempered by irony and postcolonial theoretical discourse. Fadlabi has been collaborating with Lars Cuzner on European Attraction Limited (2010–2014), a contemporary rendition of the Congo Village that was part of the 1914 World Fair in Oslo In 2008, Fadlabi founded an artist-run platform, One Night Only, a gallery in Oslo that rotates exhibitions every Monday. Fadlabi is the winner of the Blix Award, 2012.
