Jan Peter Hammer is an artist whose multimedia and video work often deals with fictional or true stories spanning transnational economic and political flows.
His films have been included in the programs of, among others: Docaviv, Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival, Tel Aviv, 2012; International Film Festival, Rotterdam, 2011; and International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film, Leipzig, 2010. Recent exhibitions include: Without Reality There Is No Utopia, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, 2013; It’s the Political Economy, Stupid, Pori Museum, Pori, 2013,Austrian Cultural Forum, New York, and Centre of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, 2012; The Fable of the Bees, Supportico Lopez, Berlin, 2012; Jan Peter Hammer: The Invisible Hand, Kunstverein Arnsberg, Arnsberg, 2012; Differenza e Ripetizione, Galleria Lia Rumma, Naples, 2012; Image- Mouvement, Centre d’Art Contemporain Geneve, Geneva, 2011; The Anarchist Banker, Kadist Art Foundation, San Francisco, 2011; and The Art of Camo, Cardi Black Box, Milan, 2011.
