Andrey Silvestrov is a film director, producer, and artist.

After graduating from the Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow, he studied at the Studio of Individual Directing of Boris Yukhananov, Moscow. He is also one of the founders of the Mu-Zei artistic group in Moscow. Silvestrov headed the Svoi zhurnal video project with Vladimir Levashov in 1997–1999. His collaborative project with Yuri Leiderman, Birmingham Pattern, was shown at the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham, in 2007. Silvestrov has directed and produced numerous short and fulllength features and videos, which have been shown internationally: Dream of an Oligarch, Rotterdam International Film Festival, Rotterdam, 2012; For Marx..., Kinotavr, Sochi, and Berlin International Film Festival, Berlin, 2012; House in Furmanny, Gogolfest, Kyiv, 2010; Brain, Moscow Film Festival, Moscow, 2010; and Volga-Volga (with Pavel Labazov), Rotterdam International Film Festival, Rotterdam, 2006. Silvestrov lives and works in Moscow.
