Tarkawian draws live in various social situations, and often accompanies his works with short texts. Recent exhibitions include: Anticipating the Future, Mackintosh Museum, Glasgow, 2013; Ceremonials: Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art, Culture Center Krasnoye Znamya, St. Petersburg, 2012; Sweatboxing, MAMA Gallery, Rotterdam, 2011; Manifesta 8, Murcia and Cartagena, 2010; and Fragile, Daejeon Museum of Art, Daejeon, 2009.
