Mariusz Tarkawian is an artist working primarily with drawing and works on paper.

His practice includes creating series that are comprised of hundreds of drawings, which appear on various support structures, including architectural walls. They document the world around him or speculate on a range of topics, from contemporary art to the future. Tarkawian draws live in various social situations, and often accompanies his works with short texts. Recent exhibitions include: Anticipating the Future, Mackintosh Museum, Glasgow, 2013; Ceremonials: Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art, Culture Center Krasnoye Znamya, St. Petersburg, 2012; Sweatboxing, MAMA Gallery, Rotterdam, 2011; Manifesta 8, Murcia and Cartagena, 2010; and Fragile, Daejeon Museum of Art, Daejeon, 2009. Tarkawian lives and works in Warsaw.

His project for Bergen Assembly was realized with the generous support of Hordaland Art Centre.
