An Initiative for Art and Research
During the autumn of 2011 the trustees of the Bergen Assembly have appointed an international advisory board for the planned Assembly.

The board has been invited to select a curator or curatorial team for the Assembly and to contribute to formulating a profile and format for the Assembly. It is no coincidence that the board members all contributed during the Bergen Biennial Conference in 2009. They have been selected in order to ensure continuity within a field characterized by rapid changes and a focus on festivals. The Biennial Conference was intended to serve two specific purposes: to prepare for a good and relevant biennial located in Bergen and based on an international art discourse, but also to analyze the phenomenon of biennials globally,  and perhaps offer substantial input to the reflection on contemporary art in general.

Seven contributors to the Biennial Conference were invited to join the artistic advisory board and the board of the Bergen Assembly is pleased to announce that all accepted spontaneously, enthusiastically and positively.
